The characters were complex without being melodramtic, the story had a few twists and turns and it was well written in terms of the narative. After reading the book, I went out and bought a four by four cubby shelves, some nice large bins, and some hooks. I wanted Tom to travel further and see more things, so the kid in me could fall asleep before the end. It's a carefree book and so thankful that it is in my collection now. If you can relate to that, you will love this book. It is a great and engrossing read with some of the most powerful characterizations I have ever encountered. He's a little cuddler but not a hugger so this gets him to practice hugging and show that people need hugs when they're sad.
